Re: How to best apply chrome powders?

I would check ground first, then mess with settings. It's hard to tell you anything because you didn't give the settings or the ground setup to us....we are guessing just as much as you are at this point.

Re: Overall questioning...Just late night random thoughts

Also start practicing with sample pieces like I said earlier but do everything cold, so you don't rely on bad habits to try to make things work. Train yourself the way you want to coat. Don't trick yourself into using a pro gun like a hobby gun, or you literally have a 5k paper weight in your shop. ...

Re: Overall questioning...Just late night random thoughts

Your ground is the key to any 2nd coat. Once you have a badass ground you can spray 7 layers cold if you wanted to. The settings is something to worry about after you have the proper ground. Re: brembo calipers.... how to blast properly

For blasting purposes that will be ok. I do not let powder get in to the area where the dust boot sits because the powder even though its minimal, will close the distance for where the dust boot sits, and you could run into issues with the dust boot not seating properly. That's just me though.

Re: Caliper Fade

So youtube videos will tell you to lube up the seals and dustboots etc with brake fluid. I powder coat Brembos all the time and I don't use brake fluid. I actually use a couple small drops of Astroglide. (Yes I know). A couple drops go a long way and it is not corrosive. They absolutely will get mes...
