RE: Chinesse 5 HP Single Phase Magnetic Starter Need Help

Post by chewbacca5000 » Mon Mar 17, 2014 4:58 pm

If anyone can help me get this magnetic starter wired up for my 5 HP Single phase motor I would greatly appreciate it. I have no idea how to get the magnetic coil to close and send the current to the overload heater. There was no description for the numbers on the magnetic starter.

I am clear on L1 & L3 the input juice, but fuzzy on the rest. I believe A1 and A2 are related to the coil.

Got it off ebay for $53 bucks.

Thanks!

Well I found your problem. It is in RED in the description of it

While we are waiting on ed1966ss I would guess would any thing here help you out? I looked for a wiring diagram of it and found all sorts of info except for the wiring :(

Maybe Scott can help you but if not this forum is great on stuff like that. This one is a 3 phase one but bet someone can help you on that one also?

It wires up EXACTLY like the one I posted there... The "bottom" of the one I posted is just black instead of white like the rest of it. Simple To follow in my opinion.

Now I am just waiting to see what chewbacca5000 says. I don't have a clue at all about them. But I did get a good laugh when I read on the eBay site what it said.

"NOTE: PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION IS REQUIRED".

But when has that stopped any of us but I have fried a good working Wattlow Pid before and knew better :(

I looked at the ebay listing and it doesn't say what the coil voltage is so I will assume is 240v. The coil terminals are to the right and the left of T1 and T3 on the contactor. You can use your existing 240V pressure switch from the compressor but instead of the load side going to the motor it will now go to the coil of the starter and jumper back to L1 and L3 (it may already have those jumpers but cant tell in the pic). T1 and T3 of the overload will then go back to the motor.

The S-P35T will bring up all the info in the world on it except for wiring of it.

I must have missed the original post but why are you using this? If your pressure switch is bad there cheap to replace, If your going through them left and right then your motor is about shot.
